Home HELP! Web Design & Creation
Web Design & Creation

My extensive background in computers also includes a certain amount of web design and development expertise ranging from simple static HTML pages to fully dynamic and immersive content management systems. I can provide a site from scratch, or I can redesign your existing site to give you those features that you've always wanted. I am able to offer a complete turn-key web site, including such interactive features as an online store, message forum, mailing list, community development (e.g., Facebook-type features), at a reasonable price and fast turnaround. Please contact me with details about your specific project for a quote.

Some examples of my work from over the years include...

Middlesex County Habitat for Humanity (www.middlesexhabitat.org)
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need. The Middlesex County branch needed a new web site that better presented their mission in a manner which could be easily maintained by their volunteers. The new design is much more colorful, organized, and easier to navigate, as well as being completely SEO-compliant. I was happy to provide a solution that I'm sure will meet all of their online needs for the foreseeable future.

Rose Squared Productions, Inc. (www.rosesquared.com)
Rose Squared Productions are hosts of fine art and craft shows shown throughout New Jersey. Their original site was largely static and they relied upon a third-party to keep the site updated. The design was fairly monochrome and very busy, and the site was not optimized for search engines. I recreated the site using a CMS, giving their site a burst of color while adding a number of new features and functions including a sitewide search engine, a FAQ, an opt-in mailing list, and more — including complete search engine optimization, of course! Because the site is CMS-based there is an easy-to-use administrative section which allows them to update any aspect of their site without having to rely on a third-party.

Mikee Gourmet and Speciality Sauces (www.mikee.com)
(NOTE: This project is in production and is not live yet.)
Mikee offers a complete line of high quality sauces and marinades. Their original site (shown on the left) lacked a sense of integration and professional shine. Using content their existing site I created a CMS-based web site that was more pleasing to the eye, plus added new features to help reach out to their customers and provide a better online experience. New features include a "random product" presentation on the side, an instant sitewide search function, text enlargement/reduction capabilities, an opt-in mailing list system, a full-featured online store with inventory management and connections to most major payment gateways, and an easy-to-use administrative section that requires no programming skills to use.

Carol Lester (www.carollester.com)
Carol is a self-made folk singer and performer living in Jersey City. She wanted a professional site that would promote her upcoming appearances and her published CDs, while maintaining a fun and open presence. This is static site that was designed and created from scratch and features an interactive message forum, downloadable videos, and links to purchase her CDs. I also made arrangements for the domain name, email, and web hosting.

tigerschulmann.com (www.tigerschulmann.com)
(NOTE: This project is in production and is not live yet.)
Originally created as a hobby site nearly a decade ago, tigerschulmann.com provides students of Tiger Schulmann's Mixed Martial Arts with an online community. The site is not affiliated with the company and is run by current and former students. The current site is already based on a CMS but a much-needed redesign will result in a more powerful and flexible CMS, and include a number of community-based features that the current site lacks.

Tiger Schulmann's Karate (www.tsk.com)
Contracted by Tiger Schulmann's to redesign their official corporate web site, they opted for a static HTML-based web site rather than one driven by a CMS. The redesigned site borrowed heavily from the corporate graphic design and color profile and offered all manner of information including school locations (including photographs and 3D panoramic images), videos of Tiger Schulmann's events, contacts to specific people within the organization, press releases, a special area for students only, and more. I was contracted for one year to keep the site updated after which it was brought in house. The site was redesigned again (not by me) in 2008.
